At ISCS-The British School of Zug, we offer opportunities for students to enrich their curriculum. This will help them to further develop some important skills for their future. Moreover, when they apply to universities, it is very valuable that students can show other skills apart from good academic performance. For that reason, we are starting to collaborate with institutions and companies to offer students, especially in the last two years of school, different opportunities. An example of this is the different cooperation that our students complete with different NGOs. Also, another example is the amazing experience in Racing Unleashed (https://www.racing-unleashed.com). This is an internationally active company fully invested in the world of esports, making motorsports more accessible to all the population. Here, our students can practise more in the areas of Business, Marketing, Human Resources, Logistics, Engineering, and Esports.
Engaging esports can offer a myriad of benefits for students. Firstly, it fosters teamwork and communication skills. It also promotes critical thinking and problem-solving. Additionally, it enhances digital literacy and technological proficiency, as students navigate complex gaming interfaces and utilize various tools within the gaming ecosystem. Finally, esports can instill discipline and time management, and as competitive gaming continues to gain recognition, involvement in this can even open doors to scholarship opportunities. Overall, integrating esports into school activities not only enriches students’ educational experience but also cultivates skills that are increasingly relevant in the modern world.
