Spirit Week 2019

  • Categories School News
  • Date March 31, 2019

In February, ISOCS held the “Spirit Week 2019 ” that saw the whole community come together for fun activities to build rapport and team spirit at our school. For the first time, a “house system” has been introduced that recognises when students have gone above and beyond expectations to demonstrate the International Baccalaureate Organisation’s “Learner Profile” (LP) attributes. The LP represents the IB’s distinctive approach to pedagogy across each of its three programmes –Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP). This approach is designed to respond to the challenges of learning and citizenship in the 21st Century: to produce learners who are able to engage effectively with the processes of rapid social change, growing experiences of cultural diversity and exchange and the realities of global interconnectedness and interdependence.

Students receive “house points” that go towards the total score for their House. Events will be held throughout the rest of the academic year, which will cover special competitions that will cover sports, games, and other competitions including poetry and photography. This will lead up to the final event that will decide which house wins – the Sports’ Day. We encourage all of our students to engage with healthy competition and focus on how they can develop their IB learner profile attributes.
